From The Desk of the President:

Making an Investment in your Attitude

My grandmother used to say, “You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar!”  Translation:  You’ll get further with people when you display the right attitude!  Sometimes that works and sometimes it  doesn’t but, nothing beats a failure but a try.  Ask yourself the question, do I want someone else to dictate how my attitude will be?  Usually our attitudes appear when we’re having a rough day or when we feel that we are not receiving the proper respect.  But, how about he respect we show ourselves when we allow other people to push our buttons?

I am truly guilty of that!  I’m learning to tell myself that “this to shall pass and in spite of the attitude of others, I am responsible for mine!”  A very dear friend sent this poem to me about attitudes and I would like to share it with you.

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three strands of hair on her head.  Well, she said, I think I’ll braid my hair today?  So she did and she had a wonderful day.  The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two strands of hair on her head. ‘H-M-M,’ she said, ‘I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today? So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one strand of hair on her head.  ‘Well,” she said, ‘today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.” So she did and she had a fun, filled day! The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn’t a single strand of hair on her head.  ‘YEAH!’ She exclaimed, ‘I don’t have to fix my hair today!’

Long story short, Attitude is everything.  The image that you show others is what they will remember about you.Word of mouth can make or break you. Keep them wondering what’s wrong with you by being extra nice even when you don’t feel like it!

Remember that the children are back in school and it’s our job to watch out for them and to keep them safe.  Have a blessed holiday season!

It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results"
